Background

The client context

A private homeowner constructing a bespoke multi-million dollar luxury smart villa required a singular partner to consult, design, and manage the technical infrastructure right from the initial concrete pour and electrical blueprint stage.

To achieve a clean, clutter-free aesthetic, the architectural design demanded completely flush-mounted ceiling registers, hidden AV racks, and minimal wall clutter — eliminating rows of competing plastic light switches, thermostats, and intercom panels.

Scope of work

A comprehensive, high-reliability residential ecosystem

The homeowners wanted total control over the thermal comfort, lighting, security, and acoustic environment across five distinct indoor and outdoor zones. Crucially, the system had to be simple enough for children and guests to operate while remaining deeply customizable for advanced users.

  • Tunable white lighting capable of matching circadian rhythms naturally throughout the day.
  • Automated motorized shades reacting dynamically to solar heat gains, reducing AC cooling loads.
  • Biometric door entry, IP security cameras, and offline backup power grids with silent cutovers.

Expectations

Failsafe operation, zero technical latency

In typical smart home setups, external network lag can lead to delays when pressing light switches or adjusting audio volumes. The client specified that all standard operations — specifically lighting, heating, and alarm security systems — must run entirely on high-grade local networks, bypassing cloud dependencies completely.

Engineering

Design & integration approach

A solid fiber-optic backbone utilizing Lutron Homeworks alongside high-performance edge controllers. To satisfy the rigorous design criteria, we laid down custom low-voltage cabling grids connected to a centralized AV rack in the lower basement. We deployed premium enterprise switches paired with local Lutron Homeworks panels for lightning-fast button responsiveness.

By consolidating multi-room audio matrices, smart remote relays, and heating interfaces in one central hub, we successfully eliminated the need for plastic wall panels on the living floors, leaving only beautifully machined solid brass keypad plates custom-matched to the interior walls.

Project delivery

Challenges & delivery

Luxury residential construction involves multiple highly specialized trades working on overlapping schedules. Our team worked in close sync with physical builders, cabinet makers, and pool engineers to preserve internal acoustic silence created massive Wi-Fi and RF blocks. We engineered an extensive network of low-profile, plaster-in wireless access points that blend invisibly into ceilings to guarantee perfect coverage from the garage to the garden.

Reliability

Support & aftercare

To ensure the systems remain in pristine shape, Ace Micro delivers a dedicated 24/7 priority support SLA. Our team runs proactive, encrypted offsite diagnostics weekly, tracking sensor health, battery statuses of peripheral devices, and system thermal benchmarks. Any hardware anomaly automatically alerts our local standby technicians, often allowing us to push firmware patches or dispatch on-site help before the homeowner even notices an issue.
